Children’s and Family Guides

Good family guides provide a fun way for the whole family to learn, explore and interact together. They are so much more than just a tool to entertain or distract children.

My particular passion is writing fun, inspiring and informative text for children and family audiences.

I have an MA Distinction in Writing for Children – something that few writers in the heritage world can boast. The skills I have developed enable me to write children’s interpretation which arouses imagination, ignites curiosity and encourages exploration.

Working with a professional writer to produce our new children’s trail was wonderful. We learnt so much and it was fascinating to see the cathedral from a different perspective. Cathy also brought imagination and a sense of humour to the project. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her.”

We commissioned Cathy Lewis to produce our ‘Action Stations’ children’s leaflet with the idea it would just run for one year. It proved so popular that it is now part of our core literature. It brings lifeboat stations alive for children, and families love it!”
